The DC Charter School Alliance School Support work helps build a high-quality charter school sector by identifying challenges schools face and providing resources to address those challenges.

We do this through:

  • Technical assistance and training;

  • Sharing of best practices and crowd-sourced resources;

  • Facilitating convenings and opportunities for leaders to talk to one another; and

  • Developing and connecting schools with resources and partnerships.

We also provide support with new school applications, charter reviews and renewals, and charter amendments. Additionally, we develop and manage collaboration initiatives across local education agencies, including an academic consortium and shared staffing initiative. Finally, we support schools as they interact with city agencies, from accessing city services to navigating regulatory requirements and guidance.

The DC Charter School Alliance School Support team covers a wide range of issue areas, essentially everything a school does: Budget and finance, grants, health and safety, employment law, compliance, academic recovery, human resources, operations, data, accountability, leadership development, governance, facilities, hiring, compensation, community engagement, student recruitment, attendance, communications, emergency planning, special education, enrollment, and more.
